The question of Tariq’s fate has been a topic of discussion ever since Starz first announced its spinoff series. Many believe that he will eventually face the same end as his father for trying to live a double life as a legal practitioner and drug lord. As he states several times throughout the show, Tariq loathes the idea of turning into his father and has done everything possible not to repeat his mistakes, only to end up in similar circumstances.
So does this mean that he will eventually answer for his crimes and misdeeds with his life as well? Right now, it’s unclear, but we do know that Tariq will live to see season four, which is already on the way. However, creator Kemp may have dropped a small hint about what might happen to Tariq if he continues down the path he’s been on. Reflecting on Ghost’s death, she told EW, “There were a lot of people who would have liked Ghost to have a happy ending and walk off into the sunset victorious.” “I just felt uneasy that a character did so many horrible things and to be so uncaring and not punish him for it.”
For now we just have to wait to see if Tariq gets the same punishment.
