Betty Lavette Still going strong at 77 and just announced a new album. Lavette!It will be released on June 16 via Jay Vee Records, again produced by Steve Jordan. Randall Bromlett“I think he’s the best songwriter I’ve heard in the last 30 years,” LaVette said, “and I only knew him eight years ago.” Pino Palladino on bass Larry Campbell and Chris Bruce on the guitar and Leon Pendarvis on the keyboard by works from John Mayer, Jon Baptiste, Anthony Hamilton, Steve Winwood, Ray Parker Jr., Reverend Charles Hodges, James Carr. router and Pedro Martinez.
The new single from the album is “Plan B,” and Bettye says, “I don’t have any other plans.” Listen below.
