Beyoncé fans react to Diane Warren shaming singer for using 24 songs

While Beyoncé fans are enjoying her new album Renaissance — her first since 2016’s Lemonade — some are defending her from some of the perceived shadows thrown by Oscar-nominated songwriter Diane Warren.

On Monday, 65-year-old Warren asked on Twitter, ‘How can there be 24 writers on one song?’ With rolling eyes emoji.

The tweet — seemingly a reference to Beyoncé’s song Alien Superstar — was not well received by the Beehive, with fans cursing her for everything from her age to not explaining how the samples worked.

Her tweet — sent out early Monday morning — seemingly immediately blew up, with angry fans thinking she was sending some shade Beyonce’s way.

Warren tried to downplay that notion by tweeting 15 minutes later, ‘It’s not meant as a shadow, I’m just curious.’

Another 20 minutes or so after she thought she figured it out, she tweeted, ‘Okay, these are test samples that add up to the number of authors.’

That still didn’t stop many fans from tweeting, including Twitter user Lisa McGuire, who said, ‘Samples and many interpolations! I am a music supervisor and sometimes make them clear.’

Another Twitter user named Dylan asked, ‘How have you been in this game for 80 years and don’t know how samples work?’ ‘Because I don’t use them,’ Warren replied.

Warren asked, ‘How many you have met?’ As Jay replied, ‘Win just like you, xoxo.’

Another recording artist, The-Dream, explained, ‘You mean how there are so many writers in our (Black) culture, well it started because we couldn’t start certain things, so we started sampling And it became an artform, a major part of black culture (hip hop) in America. Wasn’t that era, who knows? You’re good?’

She also sent several other tweets, including one Twitter user she ac**t for calling her ‘Grandma’ and another where she sent a middle finger emoji to someone who said she was 65, ‘Cool you can count. . How many fingers am I holding?

Warren acknowledged his reasoning hours later, tweeting, “Okay, I didn’t mean to disrespect @beyonce I’ve worked with and admired.” I am sorry for the misunderstanding.’

Beyoncé has yet to publicly respond to any of the tweets.
