Britney Spears teams up with Elton John for Tiny Dancer remix
7 min read
IT is one of the most favorite songs of Elton John, known to millions of people around the world.
But when you hear the new version he made with Britney Spears, you might have to re-learn Tiny Dancer.
They’ve teamed up with American Superstars for a rendition of the 1971 tune, and I can reveal that they changed the lyrics and offered to sing a new verse for the remix, which is due out later this month. .
The single, to be called Hold Me Closer, will be his first single in six years.
But it will not be a straight-up cover of Tiny Dancer, as it includes clever samples of other songs Elton released, including his 1992 track The One.
The move follows Elton’s hit single Cold Heart with Dua Lipa last summer, which gave him his first UK No. 1 in 16 years.

Monster tracks include elements from Rocket Man, Sacrifice, and Kiss the Bride, as well as elements from the 1976 album track Where’s the Shoorah?
A source said: “Elton has helped countless artists throughout the years, both public and private, and is well aware of Britney’s fight to escape stereotypes.
“They’ve known each other for years, with Elton personally inviting Britain to many of his famous Oscar parties.
“He really wants the best for her and it’s wonderful to hear them on a track together.
“He was very keen to make it clear that they are both on an equal playing field when it comes to credit.
“It would be ‘Elton John, Britney Spears’ — she just wouldn’t be a featured artist.
“And he will get the money he deserves.”
While Tiny Dancer was not originally released as a single in the UK, a remix of Ironic and the Chipmunk reached number 3 here in 2009.
The new song was recorded earlier this summer and Britney’s friend Paris Hilton explained this week how she already did a sneak preview.
Emphasizing the collaboration, Paris said: “I heard it in Ibiza a few days ago. It’s going to be iconic. It’s crazy.”
Speaking about her love for Elton, Britney had previously said: “I’m his biggest fan in the world. Me and my mother, we love her till death.”
It’s safe to say he’s a fan of Britain too.
Blue Sea ‘looked very feminine’
He rose to fame with the boy band Blue before starting a solo career and selling over 700,000 records.
But Simon Webb was originally dismissed from the Naughty group because the music bosses thought he looked “too gay”.
The All Rise singer, who is gearing up for the group’s 20th anniversary tour with bandmates Lee Ryan, Antony Costa and Duncan James in December, was forced to shave her hair and wear a vest in an audition to win at the record label it was done.
Duncan recalled: “He had this weird hairstyle, didn’t he? He had like a fringe.
“He was a very handsome boy, Simon – he was very handsome because he was a model.
“They were like, ‘He looks so feminine, he looks so gay’.
“It was like they weren’t interested in him at first, but we kept going, ‘No, you’ve got to see him, he’s great, he’s great, he’s great’.
“Then the record company told him, ‘Go and get your hair cut.’ So he came back with a skinhead and it changed everything.”
Speaking about Simon on Kate Thornton’s White Wine Question Time podcast, Duncan said: “He had a tank top, his muscles were showing, he had a skin and then all of a sudden they were like, ‘Oh we love him. ‘Cause he got his hair cut.”
KSI is about to fly now
Move over Anthony Joshua, KSI is fighting as London’s most promising boxer – and still releasing the tune while he’s at it.
The rapper today dropped his new single Not Over Still featuring Tom Grenon and released a Rocky Balboa-style video featuring me.
He will return to the ring for real on August 27 at the O2 Arena in London, when he takes on his longtime YouTube rival Alex Wasabi.
Back on the music side, KSI has more competition in the charts as it is up against a raft of new entries.
Joel Corey and Becky Hill have kicked off their long-awaited collaboration history and are back with a great track called The Killer’s Boy.
TikTok sensation Katy Besser is sticking it out from her exes on her new single X&Y, while Maisie Peters also returns with a single today called Blonde.
There are enough tunes to keep me entertained this weekend.
Emily’s mother knows best
Getting her mother’s seal for her new man clearly means a lot to Emily Attack.
But just in case, she made sure Liam McGoff and Kate Robbins met a short distance away — by taking their daughter to their mom’s comedy show.
Their meeting seemed to float as Emily smiled while leaving The Crazy Cock with tree surgeon Liam in Soho, London, with Kate tagging along not far behind.
Emily and Liam met through friends, and while trimming trees is a world away from Emily’s tally career, Liam himself is no stranger to the box.
He appeared in the series Big Brother in 2007 and came third on Channel 4’s Favorite Reality.
Liam was still on the run, but he is the winner in her eyes at the sight of Emily’s smile.

OLLY Murs has been nominated for the Brit Award six times, but now she’s finally got her hands on one — after nine-time winner Harry Styles gave her one of her own.
The Troublemaker singer collected Harry’s Video of the Year trophy for Sign of the Times in 2018 because the former One Direction star couldn’t make it to the event.
But he has now revealed that it was totally gifted to him.
Speaking to Heart Bingo’s blog, Ollie explained: “I love Harry Styles’ new album and I love Harry. Harry gave me his first Brit for Sign of the Times.
“He couldn’t make the Brit Awards ceremony, so I accepted it on his behalf. I joked, ‘I’ll take it because I’ve never won a Brit’.
“I didn’t think about it because when you walk backstage you have to give it back to one of the producers.
“About two weeks later a gift came to my house and I opened it. It was saying to Harry, ‘All my loving friends. he is here’.
“And it has my name on it. And yes, Harry’s name and the Sign of the Times. But I’m like, ‘I just got a Brit award from Harry Styles!'”
Niall Horan doppelgnger?
It’s easy to get confused between boy bands, but The Vamps star Tristan Evans says his own grandmother used to mix him with Niall Horan from One Direction.
He told the latest issue of Retro Pop magazine: “My grandma actually really thought I was Niall for a while.
“She used to collect posters thinking it was The Vamps and it was actually One Direction.”

James Bay has admitted that he kicked himself when he supported Ed Sheeran on his Divide Tour, as he did not achieve the same success as Superstar.
Hold Back the River singer James said he wasn’t feeling well enough as a performer because he was the support act in 2019 instead of selling stadiums.
Starr, who released her third album Leap last month, explained: “It’s really disproportionate and probably unhealthy when I think, ‘Okay, Ed Sheeran took me three months to open up for him at football stadiums in Europe. And there are 80,000 people every night. Fantastic’.
“And the thing I hate to admit — and I’m eager to confess — is a voice in my head saying, ‘Why aren’t you doing stadia?’ I call myself different names. ‘Why isn’t this your show?’ ,
But speaking on the Diary of a CEO podcast, James said: “I was so grateful in that moment that Ed brought me in front of such a huge crowd because it was exciting to see that my music was still reaching.”

The Writing on the Wall when it comes to what Sam Smith likes to have on toast.
The singer went to a tattoo studio in east London earlier this week and got inked with her favorite spread – Marmite.
Sam shared a TikTok video of it being done and wrote: “You either love it or hate it.”

Ed Sheeran has a bottle of Heinz ketchup tattooed, while Drake has a bottle of cologne on his shoulder.
His parents couldn’t stop him from getting them, but I think Sam’s mom hates it.
