Charlamagne Tha God gave DJ Envy a “goodbye for the day” in regards to his speech about Angela Yee.
He said that Envy misrepresented Yee’s words and made himself look foolish.
“The reason DJ Envy went crazy was because I watched my good brother get his ass kicked on the Internet over the weekend. not in the physical sense but figuratively,” explains Charlemagne. “And it pissed me off. In fact, I texted Envy and all I said to Envy was ‘Context, n-word’ context.’
“We don’t have to tell you what happened. Hear what happened, listen to Envy fight for his life as he drowns. because the word will not reach him,” Charlamagne said before playing the audio clip.
“Her words were extracted from… I guess it’s technical,” Envy said. “I guess her opinion and what she said was pulled from the character and pulled from…”
Ennie claimed that he was drunk while giving the interview.
“I am a DJ at my show. And they gave me drinks and alcohol. So I drank,” he said. “It was in Detroit. So I finished being a DJ, I was fine, and they said, ‘Hey, I want to talk to you about this show.’
“I think they were talking about the show I just did. And it’s like Angela Yee and everything that’s going on. I can’t (word) leave! I do not know! We all make mistakes sometimes.”
