Damien Lewis began his career as a singer with a tribute to his late wife.
The Homeland actor’s first gig included songs he wrote about his beloved Helen McCrory, who died of breast cancer in April last year.
He sang in an emotional track: “You and I must be together until the end.”
“So goodbye, baby, I can’t wait to see your smile again.”
Another track, which he performed at the end of his set, seemed to relate to losing a partner.
Damien sang: “She comes as a blackbird, she comes as a fox.
“She sits by the window, she sings to a rock.
“It is the moon in the day and the sun that shines in the dark.
“She rests in me and she rests in the shadows.”
Then in the chorus he said: “She is my joy, she is my pain and she has rained on me.”
Damien and Harry Potter actress Helen, who died at age 52, had been married for almost 14 years and had two children together – daughter Manon, 15, and son Gulliver, 14.
As well as the original track, Damien performed touching covers of Neil Young’s Harvest Moon and Tom Waits’ Little Trip to Heaven.
Suggesting the latter was especially heartfelt for him, with Damien admitting: “I shouldn’t have agreed to this song. I shouldn’t have agreed to Kajal either.”
The actor’s 75-minute set at Omera in London on Thursday was a warm-up ahead of his appearance at the Wilderness Festival in Oxfordshire this weekend.
Damien, who began dating American singer-songwriter Alison Moshardt earlier this year, is expected to release songs on his debut album yet in 2023.
Given that he managed to sell the venue before anyone had heard him sing a note, I’m sure a lot of people would be eager to pick him up after his album was finally out. .
Kylie is going for marigolds
KYLIE Jenner looks like she hastily left the house after struggling with the laundry.
The design on her blouse resembles a pair of pink marigold gloves that you’ll slip on to tackle dirty dishes.
The billionaire American reality TV star was seen walking out of London’s Claridge’s Hotel with daughter Stormi – where she undoubtedly didn’t stop to help out with kitchen chores.
Later in the evening she slipped into a black mini dress for dinner at sushi restaurant Nobu with her boyfriend, Travis Scott.
Kylie is in town with the rapper ahead of her two standalone shows tonight and tomorrow at London’s O2 Arena.
They’ve made the most of their trip, with Kylie and Stormi heading to Harrods for afternoon tea.
Kylie, welcome to Bizarre HQ anytime.
drake scrub ok
DRAKE has a heartbreaking reputation—but is improving them as a surgeon in his new music video.
But given that he spends most of his time doing shots in clips and smoking shisha pipes, it doesn’t look like the Canadian rapper, decked out in hospital scrubs for the promo, would be a great NHS worker.
The song is the latest from DJ Khaled, called Staying Alive and inspired by the Bee Gees’ 1977 hit — and features Drake and fellow rapper Lil Baby.
It will appear in Khalid’s upcoming 13th album God Did, which is expected to release later this year.
While Khalid has done a good job getting Drake on the record, he’ll be hoping it will be better than the rapper’s latest project.
Drake’s album Honestly, Nevermind dropped out of the top 20 entirely after five weeks.

Than Tosh, Calvin
Calvin Harris has an organic small holding on Ibiza, but he’s probably not the best farmer—after claiming that Party Island is so hot the cows can’t live there.
Er, just six miles down the road from your location, is a whole bunch.
The Scots DJ made his claim in an interview yesterday to promote his first album in five years, Funk Wav Bounce Vol. 2.
He told Zoe Ball’s BBC Radio 2 breakfast show: “I want a cow but apparently you can’t get a cow on Ibiza because it’s so hot.
“I’m trying to find the right breed so I can milk a cow.”
He also closed talk of a follow-up to his latest record in 2023. He said: “Not at all. I have 23 people on this album and it was a little bit of a challenge to pull them together.
“It’s good to take a break. I’ll make a little dance music after that. A little palate cleanser.”
