Royal fans were wide-eyed during King Charles III’s coronation ceremony as they couldn’t help but suspect Meghan Markle in disguise. Many believed that Meghan traveled to the UK and attended the ceremony in disguise. However, pictures on the internet suggest that Markle was busy hiking with her friends in the US. Amidst all the speculation about ‘Meghan’s presence in disguise’, Soft Machine’s Sir Carl Jenkins has now cleared the air.
Here’s what happened:
The coronation of King Charles III took place over the weekend. Shortly after, Meghan Markle went on a trek to California while her husband, Prince Harry, attended the ceremony. However, he left the venue soon after the ceremony.
When fans on social media spotted a white-haired male wearing sunglasses and a unique mustache during the coronation broadcast, many were certain Markle was in disguise. Sir Carl Jenkins, a musician and former member of Soft Machine, has responded.
Sir Carl Jenkins of Soft Machine released a statement
“I understand there’s been a lot of interest since the coronation of King Charles III,” Jenkins said in a TikTok video.
He said, “I was there because I composed some music for the service. Some people assumed I was Meghan Markle in disguise, which surprised me. Someone wrote, ‘Whoever I was, I was there wearing the Crown Jewels. Was meant to steal. ,
Jenkins laughs in the video, saying, “I look like this all the time! I’ve been growing my mustache since I was 18. It was extremely fashionable at the time. Shocking about it.”
For the unversed, the BBC reported this week that Jenkins had composed a “haunting, very Welsh” tune for the occasion, which would be performed by the coronation orchestra and royal harpist Alice Hughes.
Meghan Markle’s reasons for skipping the coronation
Meanwhile, there has been much speculation as to why Markle skipped the coronation ceremony. However, one of the main reasons was that the Duchess was busy celebrating her son Archie’s birthday, which was on the same day as the coronation ceremony.
