Fans are divided over whether Kardashian editors gave Kim a fake tear via CGI

A TikTok user has gone viral for accusing the editors of Hulu’s “The Kardashians” of adding a “fake tear” to Kim Kardashian’s confessional interview in the first episode of Season 2.

“Please tell me you see this cgi Kardashians tear,” the young woman named Michelle Driscoll, captioned the clip.

The scene in question shows Kim, 41, crying over her wishes for her sister Khloe Kardashian to find true love after giving birth to a son via surrogate with Tristan Thompson following another cheating scandal.

The Skims founder can be seen getting excited and patting his eyes to wipe away the plumbing, but not touching any of his tears.

“She’s not touching him! That’s a fake tear!” Driscoll claims in the video, which has received more than 138,000 “likes” as of Friday morning.

However, people in the comments section were divided on the computer-generated imagery (CGI) theory.

“English [not gonna lie] I had the same thought when I watched,” one person commented.

Another agreed: “Honestly, who gets a tear in the center of their eye??? 😂”

However, some have called out Driscoll for being one of many critics of the famous family who are “obsessed” with bashing them.

“You literally watch everything they do just to find something to hate. Obsessive behavior,” one person commented.

Another wrote: “Did you stretch before doing all that reaching??”

A third pointed out why she might not have patted the alleged fake tear, noting: “If you touch it, the tear will ruin the makeup. If you just let it fall, it won’t ruin it as much.

This isn’t the first time the Kardashian editors have been called out for potentially injecting a little TV magic into the reality show.

In this case, Kourtney Kardashian’s outfit brought the mishap to light because fans realized that she was wearing the same look when she was in Malibu in January 2022.

Khloé, 38, later explained on an episode of “Hot Ones” why she sometimes has reshoots for the show.

“It’s not like these things didn’t happen, but sometimes they wouldn’t pick up the sound or sometimes the mics would go out,” the Keeping Up With the Kardashians alum shared.

“I understand that a lot [the scenes] indeed it may be, but they may just need to rework something or move on to things.”
