The star told how her cousin went to see a psychic last weekend and was delivered a tearful good luck message from her father Malcolm, who died in March 2020 after suffering a heart attack.
Speaking of her Hits Radio On Wednesday’s breakfast show, Fleur played a voice note from her cousin in which the medium revealed she was communicating with a “spirit called Malcolm” who has a daughter who “sings or dances”.
The psychic continued by saying:[Malcolm’s] daughter is about to start something, she is about to start an adventure as he calls it. Says to tell her I’m proud of her and give her all the luck in the world.

The singer explained: “In 72 hours I’ll be dancing live for the first time and it’s really exciting, but something really strange happened to me before Strictly weekend.
“On Sunday I got a message from one of my cousins who was with a medium – people who talk to the spirit world.
“I have never gone to a medium because I believe in it and I am afraid to go because I have never wanted to test it. But my cousin went and this happened.
“So my dad passed away in 2020, his name was Malcolm and apparently he came and wished me luck before Strictly.”

Fleur described receiving the message as an “eerie but comforting” experience because she had been “so anxious” not to have her beloved late father around for such an important time in her life.
She added: “Isn’t that really weird? It’s eerie, but it’s also really comforting.
“Hosting on Strictly was so nerve wracking and I was so anxious and it’s the first time my dad isn’t here before something so big in my life has become huge.
“So to get a message like that is the tune-up I needed before the big weekend.”

Fleur previously admitted she chose to take part in this year’s Strictly Come Dancing in honor of her late father, who was a huge fan of the BBC One competition.
She said: “I hope I can dance to some of my songs. It’s quite emotional for me. My dad, who passed away in 2020, Strictly was his favorite show. I will do it for him.
“I’m just annoyed that he doesn’t see me doing it, but I’ll keep it in mind during the show. I am excited. My family, for that reason alone, will be buzzing. I didn’t expect to be so emotional about it.
After being announced as a contestant last month, Fleur said: “I’m equally nervous and excited to be a part of this year’s edition of Strictly. I am excited to learn new skills and want to soak up every moment of this magical experience.
“It’s a great honor to be involved in the series after years of watching it with my dad, who loved it so much.
“Sadly my father is no longer with us, but I know he will watch over the ballroom in spirit. I’m doing this to make him and my family proud and I can’t wait to get my dancing shoes on!”
Following Malcolm’s death, Fleur shared a heartfelt tribute to him on Instagram, writing: “Cheer me to the end. You taught me and [sister] Keshia let’s be confident and always chase our dreams.
Big moment: Fleur described receiving the message as an ‘eerie but comforting’ experience because she was ‘so distraught’ not having her beloved late father around
“I will forever continue to make you proud. So glad to see us achieve so much. Every note I sing, every song I write and everything I do will be for you.
“This album is for you, Dad. I love you so much daddy dear. Have a great time up there! I’ll see you soon.’
Fleur finished as runner-up in series 11 of The X Factor in 2014 and has since become a regular in the world of music and radio.
As a singer, she has released two albums, with her debut single Sax reaching number three in the UK Singles Chart.
After appearing on I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! in 2018, she became the host of the “Breakfast on Radio Hits” show, which she hosts every weekday.
Fleur has also appeared as a presenter on the last three series of Ant and Dec’s Saturday Night Takeaway and host of ITV game show The Void.
