Here’s a fine piece of United States history going up for sale… George Washington Issued making Thanksgiving a national holiday.
America’s first president issued a proclamation in October 1798 as the first official Thanksgiving holiday on a Thursday in late November.
Handwritten declaration of the Founding Fathers going up for sale, with his signature below moments in time … with a whopping price tag of $15 million.
The historically important document is being sold by a private collector, and its value has risen sharply over the years since it changed hands.
When the piece first hit the open market in 1977, it sold for $3,000… and when it hit the market again about 7 years ago, it sold for $6.5 million.
Now it’s going for $15 million… which is a pretty big chunk of Thanksgiving dinner.
by George!!!
