Evan is nearly killed after being shot while helping Mariana, Joaquin and Jenna escape from Silas’ ranch in good problem The season 5 premiere. At the end of this episode, Evan is still in a coma. The distraught Mariana felt very guilty about what had happened. And Callie is back to support her sister through this difficult time.
Hollywood Life special talk with good problem boss Joanna Johnson Regarding Mariana’s next steps, especially after she gets Evan’s proxy at Speckulate, she also fakes updates about Callie and Evan. How Gail is going to deal with Isabella and her children. and the future of Dennis and Devia. Read our Q&A below:
Ivan’s life is still in danger. How long will it be until we get answers about his fate?
Joanna Johnson: Surely a few moments Mariana is about to step into Speckulate and act as a proxy at the company in his place. We were so excited to explore the idea that she was back there and had this great responsibility. And also feeling guilty for what happened and feeling responsible. She wanted to do everything she could for Evan. Obviously, she’s going to have some nemesis and drives to deal with. So we wanted to give the story enough time.
I’m pulling Ivan I hope he works it out. Was there ever a conversation in the writers room about the possibility of killing him outright? that used to be on the table?
Joanna Johnson: No, it looks very sad. It would rob us of our chance to tell an interesting story. If he’s gone, he’s dead, and she’s sad. And that seems a little too heavy. At first we didn’t know who would get shot. But apparently the most interesting was probably Ivan and Marianna, who felt incredibly guilty about it. And how will that bring them back together? No.
Mariana felt very guilty about what had happened. She blamed herself. How did this whole situation affect her relationship with Joaquin since she was there trying to find his sister?
Joanna Johnson: I think it’s very complicated with the triangles they do with it. I think part of her was upset at first. Why did you bring him out there? But then, of course, it all immediately sided with herself that if she hadn’t gone out there in the first place without telling anyone. This won’t happen with Joaquin. They live together and see each other often. They also create a bond in some way to injury from what happened. No one could understand what they were going through because they weren’t there. I think in some way strengthened their relationship.
What is Joaquin’s dynamic with his sister like now?
Joanna Johnson: I think they’ve been apart for a while since she left the house. The pair recounted the trauma of childhood in an oppressive home and an oppressive church situation. That’s not to say that every church situation is like that. But this particular situation is like that. So they both have a lot of remedies to do. I think when you are close to the brothers You’ll talk more about your childhood or think about it than when you’re not with them. It’s an interesting healing process. Also, when you’re in a cult situation. You haven’t left yet and you’re fine. It’s very hard to come out of a situation where you’re really brainwashed.
Callie returns at the end of the episode to go there for Mariana. How long is Callie back in the cards?
Joanna Johnson: When Maia leaves to spend time at home with her family and returns to Australia. We say the door is always open because we love Maia, and the character Callie is such an iconic and important character on this show from. The Fosters to good problem. She will always be a part of the show. We’re just glad to have her back whenever her schedule allows. She said she was free to return. And of course it’s the perfect timing for the story. we jump on it
How long will she be stuck at The Coterie?
Joanna Johnson: You know, we definitely saw her this season. I didn’t want it to feel like she had moved in. But we will see her in Season A and Season B as far as we can find.
You know I’m the biggest Callie. And Jamie stands out. Will we be updated on what’s going on with them?
Joanna Johnson: In the next section, we will answer those questions. we make it exciting
There’s a lot going on at The Coterie right now. At the end of the episode, Gael realizes that Isabella has taken her baby. What’s the next step for him?
Joanna Johnson: It’s really disappointing. One thing he will learn is in the state of california if you are not married The father will not have the right to rule. You have to file a claim for them. It’s pretty scary when you discover that. Of course, he was shocked because Isabella was impulsive. But he also believed in her to some extent. Because he saw her broken parts and understood why she was like that. He had a lot of sympathy for her. But he also lost his mind. Imagine if someone took your child and you had no power to do anything with it.
Dennis and Devia are together a lot. They try to keep their relationship a secret. But it didn’t work very well. How long will this honeymoon last?
Joanna Johnson: There are no plans to separate them. We are excited to tell stories about relationships and their ups and downs. This is especially true for people who are new to romantic relationships but not new to friendship. They have known each other for a long time. So we’re definitely exploring that. The two of them will have big career prospects this season. They will also balance starting a new relationship and devoting the necessary time and time to building their careers.
What will Alice’s journey be like this season?
Joanna Johnson: I think Zumi and Alice will get back together after having a relationship before. And then there was a lot of pain in that relationship. I think these two would be interesting to rebuild trust. And Alice has a really fun career story. in this season as well She went to work writing for a comedy show. That really brings some comedy to the show, so we’re looking forward to that.
