“Introduction”
“This is a really exciting song. And to be honest it’s one of my favorite songs because of how it all came together. we are in the studio And I started warming up to prepare for the record. We just got a lot of different riffs. But they get along well! So I decided to add a lot of stacks. (So much so that we had the system full.) Then my Executive Producer Adam Blackstone came in and added these beautiful strings. It went from warm-up to welcome. So I knew that was how I wanted to start the EP. It feels easy. And it introduced me musically in a really classy way!”
“twice”
“’Twice’ is a really fun song. which I co-wrote with my favorite songwriters. Kristal “Tytewriter” OliverFalling in love begins with loving yourself. At that time, I was going through a really bad breakup. And I just want to write a feel-good song. This is a time when we are still deep in the epidemic. So Crystal and I had to work remotely, which was a really interesting experience. We’ll spend all day in the studio and deliver recordings. Back and forth until we really understood what we wanted to say. I know what the chorus is going to be. But I’m having a really hard time figuring out what the chorus is. and when it finally clicked We are so excited! It’s still fun to talk to me a little bit!”

“dream”
“Oh, this is another one of my favorites! I wrote this when I started dating again. And I really experienced the feeling. that being wanted by someone again There’s something fun and mysterious about starting a romantic relationship when you both really feel for each other! as a woman It’s so exciting to get dressed and feel good about yourself. feel beautiful be desired and is appreciated It’s especially effective when you start to discover your self-worth. and you know what your boundaries are and what you bring to the table This song lasted the longest in the entire project. There are so many different versions and so many variations, but it’s a really fun song. to be brought together!”
“Some Love Songs (SLS)”
“This is one of the first songs. which I wrote and produced myself I didn’t like it very much. It’s really fun and cute. When I sent the original sample to Adam and my other producers. Jay Townsend, They both loved it so much. The three of us went into the studio over the weekend and paid attention to detail and orchestration. And it turned out to be a really cute song! It’s very different from what I expected to be in this project. But I love that. I’m very glad that we decided to continue working. The lesson from that song is to believe in yourself and in the story you want to tell when it comes to your art. Because it will definitely involve someone!”
“miss you”
“’Miss U’ has a retro pop-R&B feel. I absolutely love it! It is another song that is very accessible to us. I’m in my early twenties And I want to know how open I am when it comes to gender and growing up as a woman. This is the perfect way to express yourself without overdoing it. This is a song that we finished very quickly. And every time we listen Everything is correct!
“Voice Message (Interlude)”
I really liked the interlude, Miss U’s original was longer than 5 minutes! One day I was talking on the phone with a close friend. and the music is playing in the background We’re busy talking about vocals. And that’s when I got the idea.
“Hug me”
“’Hold Me’ was the first song I ever released. So special to me because it pays homage to the people who made me who I am today. I’m also a sucker for ballads. This is a song I wrote in under 15 minutes at my piano in a small Harlem apartment when I was 20. I remember feeling super nervous. When sending this song to Adam But he really liked it and encouraged me to go to the studio and record as soon as possible. I’m glad we did! Hold me is a song that hit so many people in a way I could only dream of. In fact, I was told the other day that they were using it as the first dance song at a wedding. And I cried!”
“three”
“I grew up listening to all the soul singers as a kid. Aretha Franklin It’s one of my favorite singers in the whole world. (Actually I play Carolyn Franklin in respect movie with Jennifer Hudson)! I knew I wanted to record a song that was soulful and felt good to sing. This is a song where I can have fun expressing my vocals. the moment we finish I knew this was the way I wanted to finish the project.”
