Harry Styles’ mum Anne slams Don’t Worry Darling critics and their ‘furious’ remarks

Harry Styles’ mum hit out at the ‘cruel comments’ surrounding ‘Don’t worry honey’ as she praised her son and girlfriend Olivia Wilde.

Anne Twist has posted a glowing review of the psychological thriller, which stars Harry alongside Florence Pugh, despite the fact that it has so far garnered only a 36 percent score on Rotten Tomatoes.

Taking to Instagram on Thursday, Anne shared a series of photos in the theater as she wrote: “First time at the French cinema .. first day of screening .. Don’t worry honey,” you were great!

“I really enjoyed it from start to finish. Kudos to @oliviawilde and team for getting us in, kudos to @harrystyles for being awesome Jack. Very proud as usual.

She made no mention of leading lady Florence in the post – who has been embroiled in a public feud with the director and Harry’s girlfriend, Olivia.

However, Anne took to her Stories to share how “saddened” she was to see so much negativity thrown at the film and its cast, which also includes Gemma Chan and Chris Pine.

She wrote: “If you can’t say something nice, don’t say anything.

“I’m amazed and saddened by the mean comments here, to be honest. I liked a movie. If it’s not your cup of tea, don’t go…”

She concluded: “If you don’t like me, please don’t follow me. Just.

Don’t Worry Darling was embroiled in several scandals in the run-up to its release, including rumors of a feud between Florence and Olivia.

Olivia addressed the widely rumored split on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on Wednesday, insisting she has “nothing but respect” for Florence despite being dogged by claims to the contrary.

She blasted Florence’s performance in the controversial film and suggested that being questioned about the feud was sexist because it’s not something her “fellow male directors respond to”.

The actress also doubled down on her claims she fired former leading man Shia LaBeouf, 36, insisting he gave her an “ultimatum” to choose between him and Florence and clarifying: “I chose Florence.”

Olivia reportedly fell out with Florence during filming, as the Black Widow star is said to be unhappy with claims that Olivia “hooked up” with Harry while she was engaged to Jason Sudeikis.

Olivia and Jason, 46, got engaged in 2012 and have children Otis, eight, and Daisy, five. They were believed to have split in November 2020, and Olivia hit the headlines with Harry in January 2021.

Then, in the run-up to the film’s premiere, Florence did little to no promotion for the film and was seen enjoying a cocktail nearby in Venice while missing a press conference for Don’t Worry, Honey.

Olivia also set the record straight about her boyfriend Harry allegedly spitting on Chris Pine.

A video emerged earlier this month of the Don’t Worry Darling cast taking their seats ahead of the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, when some speculated from Chris’ reaction to Harry settling down next to Pine that he was spit up

Harry and Chris’ reps have denied the incident happened – with Harry even joking about it at a concert.

Speaking on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Olivia reiterated that the incident, now known as “spitgate”, simply did not happen.

A laughing Olivia said: “He didn’t, but I think it’s a perfect example of people looking for drama anywhere they can.”

Meanwhile, amid rumors of tension on set, Harry and Florence teamed up to release a song from their film.

The two collaborated on the song With You All the Time, with Harry adding piano instead of singing, and the song being credited to their film characters Alice and Jack instead of using their real names.
