Heather Dubrow is clapping back when claiming she shared her son Ace’s transformation into “Still Relevant”
The “Real Housewives of Orange County” star became “very emotional,” defending her Instagram post on March 4 that unveiled the 12-year-old’s new name and transgender identity on the “Let’s Talk With” podcast. Heather Dubrow” on Thursday.
“I see (people commenting that) talking about my son is (a way) to stay relevant or build a storyline on the show,” Dubrow, 54, told the audience.
“These things are not true. They are the furthest thing,” she said, noting that she would not. “Take advantage of” her children for “content.”
The Bravolebrity — who is twins Max and Nick, 18, and daughter Kat, 16, with husband Terry Dubrow — went on to explain why she spoke up about her youngest child’s gender identity when she did so.
“It’s all about protecting my children … physically and emotionally,” she said.
“Obviously we have to say something. Our goal is to recognize who our amazing son is. And it shows how much we love and support our children.”
Heather denied having “hidden” her son, clarifying that “there are other people who want to tell them about your baby, so … we have to say something before someone else comes forward.”
Later in the episode, the “That’s Life” alum broke down in tears, telling viewers that she would continue to “protect” her children and “fight for their safety, rights and freedom.”

When Heather introduced Ace via Instagram last week, Gretchen Rossi, Meghan King, and the rest of the “RHOC” cast praised their co-stars.
For “Real Housewives of New York City” alum Bethenny Frankel, she posted an adorable photo of her daughter Bryn dancing on TikTok with Heather’s “super happy” son.
The 52-year-old Frankel also claps back at the trolls who call Ace “the troll.” “Too young to decide” on the change, writing “It’s not you, so you don’t know.”

Heather and Terry, 64, have previously been vocal in their support of their daughter, when Max and Kat became bisexual and lesbian respectively in recent years.
