James Marsden is currently serving on the jury for his latest TV role.
Amazon Freevee has released a trailer and announced the premiere date for its upcoming docu-style comedy. Duties of the JuryThe first four episodes of the series starring an alternate version of Marsden will drop on Friday, April 7, then two new episodes will run through the finale on April 21.
Duties of the Jury A memoir of the inner workings of an American jury trial. The show had a major twist in that one jury, Ronald Gladden, who is a solar contractor from San Diego, California, is a real-life member of the public. Unbeknownst to him, he was taking part in a fake trial and was surrounded by actors. Everything that happened inside and outside the courtroom was carefully planned. But as far as Gelden was concerned. It’s really a court case.
Early in the show, Marsden attempts to leave jury duty by declaring: “I am a known public figure,” to which the judge (Alan Barinholtz) replies: “Respectfully, I don’t remember you.” See the trailer above for more from this “Jury” and “Trial,” as well as Ronald’s seriousness.
