Jamie Foxx Expresses Excitement About Bringing Cameron Diaz Back to Screen in Upcoming Netflix Feature Back in Action

Jamie Foxx talks about encouraging Cameron Diaz to return to the screen during an interview entertainment tonight This week.

During the sit-down, the 54-year-old cast member expressed excitement about being able to work with his 49-year-old costar, and he revealed how he persuaded her to act again.

The Charlie’s Angels star previously announced that she was retiring from acting four years ago.

Foxx began the interview by expressing that he greatly admires Diaz and the success she has achieved during her career.

‘Cameron is such an incredible force and he has done so much in this business. We love him,’ he said.

The Django Unchained star noted that he posed a simple question to the actress during the conversation process.

He recalled asking her: “Do you want to have some fun? Just have some fun!’ And I think that’s what brought him to this.’

Foxx later said that he considered Diaz’s return to acting particularly important.

‘We miss special moments in our business sometimes, and I think that’s a special moment. So we are very happy that this is happening and we are looking forward to it.”

However, the Academy Award-winning artist pointed out that she had to be creative in the way by which she brought the actress back to her old career.

He said, ‘You know how we got him back, we had to innovate a lot.’

Foxx and Diaz are currently set to work together in the upcoming action comedy feature Back in Action.

Development on the upcoming feature initially came to the public last June.

The film will be directed by Seth Gordon, who co-wrote its screenplay with Brendan O’Brien, and Ray Starr will produce the feature.

Plot details about the upcoming feature are currently being withheld, and production is set to begin later this year.

Foxx announced that Diaz would be featured in the film with a video that was shared on her Instagram account last June.

In the clip, the pair talks about potentially bringing the latter back on screen, before the former invites Tom Brady over to “give some tips on how to retire.”

In the caption of his post, the actor wrote that he had to ‘call the goat to bring back another goat.’

Back in Action is currently set to premiere on the Netflix streaming service at an unspecified date in the future.
