Katy Perry reveals she’s been sober for five weeks and has pledged to abstain from alcohol with fiancé Orlando Bloom.
The “American Idol” singer and judge said she and the “Pirates of the Caribbean” actor vowed not to drink for three months.
“I’ve been sober for five weeks today,” she told People at a Mister Paradise cocktail party in New York on Monday.
“I made a contract with my fiancée. (Orlando Bloom’s fiancée) and I want to break up,” she said while jokingly wiping away her tears.
After American Idol judge Luke Bryan asked her if she’d drink it. The Teenage Dream hitmaker was quick to say no.
“No, little girl! I can’t, I promise three months,” she replied, referring to her “deal” with Bloom.
The hit “Never Really Over” singer co-founded the non-alcoholic aperitif group last year. Started her relationship with the actor in January 2016.
But a year later, in March 2017, they announced through a representative that they were “Giving up space for respect and love in this moment.”

Perry later revealed that she nearly killed herself when they called for an end.
They reconciled and fell in love again the following year.
The couple made their red carpet debut in September 2018 and got engaged on Valentine’s Day in 2019.

And while their relationship might not seem like a smooth ride, Bloom recently opened up about the challenges they faced in order to stay together.
“We’re in two very different pools,” Bloom told Flaunt magazine last month.
“Your pool is not the one I need to understand. And I think my pool isn’t the one you need to understand. Sometimes things get really, really challenging.”
Bloom said that managing their busy schedules while traveling long distances during long periods of time was the hardest part of their union.
“I won’t lie. We definitely struggle with our emotions and creativity (but) I think we both realize how happy we are that we have a unique relationship the way we do in our time. do And there are absolutely no dull moments,” he added.
