Lea Michele cancels Summer Life in Music tour to focus on new starring role in Broadway show Funny Girl, replacing Benny Feldstein
Lea Michele’s team announced on Tuesday that they have canceled the rest of their life music tour.
That’s because the dates clash directly with the demanding rehearsal for her upcoming Broadway return in Funny Girl as she replaces Benny Feldstein.
Michelle will sing, dance and star as Fanny Bryce in Funny Girl starting September 6 and needs to rehearse as much as she can before the screen opens, calling for an abrupt cancellation of the tour.

The 35-year-old actress announced her summer tour in May and just weeks ago began showings at City Winery’s locations across the US.
Now, with no rescheduled dates in sight, it looks like only half of his commitment will be met.

The second part of the tour, which was supposed to start in mid-August, has now been canceled with refunds being issued to ticket holders.
City Winery Chicago, Atlanta and Nashville events will not be taking place.
The first group of cancellation announcements went to ticket holders of the Chicago City Winery event via email: ‘We regret to inform you that due to a recently confirmed Broadway rehearsal scheduling conflict, The Lea Michele Show 8/14 is set to /22. City Winery in Chicago must be canceled. All Ticket Purchases are refunded to your original payment method and you will see that returned within the next 7-10 business days. We and Lea Michele sincerely apologize for the inconvenience, and we look forward to seeing you back at City Winery for a future event!’

Fans with tickets to other concert dates later confirmed that the other remaining shows were also cancelled.
In July it was announced that Lee would return to Broadway as Fannie Brice in Funny Girl.
Michelle made it clear that the new role will require her to take extra time to learn tap dance and fully adapt to her new character.
While Michelle has still not commented publicly on the cancellation of her tour, her social media and the official Funny Gir production shared behind-the-scenes photos and videos of rehearsals.
