Weezy spoke a lot last week during an appearance on the show. Zen Low‘s apple music List of podcasts on the topic of billboardThe 50 Greatest Rappers of All Time which was published on February 8th, appeared and that LW was a surprise He was only clocked at rank 7, lower than many others.

the outlet has Biggie, Eminem, Tupac, Nas, Kendrick Lamar and Jay-Z was ahead of him respectively, but Wayne begged different people to think differently. Especially among those alive, he honestly said that he was number 1 … and even dared the survey takers to ask people above him how they felt about it. in his view He thought they would agree… Wayne was bigger than them.
As usual, this is all subjective… and it’s unclear what kind of criterion Billboard follows to consider one better than the other. Looking at the appearance They seem to be praising Jay as the top dog because of their overall success. Which he certainly succeeded.
But if you check Twitter… it seems that many people agree with the idea that Wayne is better than Jay-Z, both in terms of rapping skills and cultural impact, which is really how these should be measured. Truth is, Weezy still spits fire in 2023 (see New DMX Interoperability) … while one could argue that Jay wasn’t rapping like he did at his peak.
from the foregoing Their numbers are comparable… Wayne has 3 No. 1 hits (Billboard Hot 100) and Jay has 4 No. 1s of his own. However, Wayne has 25 of his songs in the top 10 in history at the moment. At Jay there are only 22 songs in the same category, so on a song by song basis… it’s getting closer.
Even in Jay’s #1 number one albums, Wayne’s 14th through 9th (Billboard 200) were nearly tied.
We think this question is really in the eye of the beholder, but it can be honestly answered with one simple question – in your heart. Whose songs do you like listening to at the event? And who exactly has a more memorable performance overall???
Who is the better MC, big picture???
Everyone likes it, but between these two…who do you have? Let me know!
