Thank God for modern technology!
An Oregon man is still alive today after being stranded in an unforgiving winter snow. All because of drones and quick thinking. A driver traveling along an unmaintained road in the Willamette National Forest recently found himself in a situation no one wanted to go with — stuck in heavy snow and without cell service. any to call for help
Worse than that The unknown man knew that no one would come to pick him up. Because his family was out of the country at that time. And he did not reveal his travel plans to anyone before he passed away, according to Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue.

However, instead of letting panic take over The person starts brainstorming to communicate to civilization that he is stuck. And finally came up with a long but ingenious plan together.
when he was in the car He has a drone and a cell phone… Useless from a fixed position Because he was too far away to pick up any bars — but what if he was taller? The man made “many smart decisions,” according to search and rescue teams. It started with a plan to attach his mobile phone to the drone. He then typed an SOS to a trusted friend. detailing his exact position and situation. and send a message before launching the drone into the air. “hundreds of feet high”
from search and rescue The increased altitude allowed his phone to connect to the tower and send messages. As a result, our team was dispatched to assist and rescue him from the situation.”
Wow, if it weren’t for some important displays of wit and self-care. We don’t even know what it is!
During the rescue mission The man quickly finds the location as he combines the information needed to track down his whereabouts — and even ends up rescuing another lost soul! With Sunday’s release, the Lane County Sheriff’s Search and Rescue Team detailed the situation. They praised the creativity of the man who ran aground at But also take a moment to warn other motorists. To the winter travel situation:
“Forest roads are not maintained for winter travel. Any attempt to travel on snow-covered or icy roads is not maintained. (More or less) should only be done with a well-equipped fleet. If one car gets stuck, others can try to free the stuck car or they can turn around and use it to propel everyone back to safety.
Always let the person in charge know where you are going and when you expect to return. Don’t deviate from this plan. If the road is impassable turn back the same way Don’t try to go off course without first updating your plans with your emergency contacts.
Among the dozens of missions we have this winter involving vehicles stuck in the snow. Almost all of them are 4×4 vehicles and almost all drivers tell us that. “I don’t think I’m stuck.” Instead, ask yourself if you think you can make it through the block. Ask yourself: “What if I get stuck?” If you (and the other fleets you’re traveling with) aren’t ready to deal with the possible consequences of your efforts. turn around and return the way you came.”
