Every pet owner knows that furry friends How can (or have scales) change your life? And Marty the cat is no exception.
Last Wednesday, the 39-year-old musician Will Menager take it Twitter to express his condolences over the loss of his cat. in an emotional statement He wrote about his first encounter with Marty:
“In 2017, when I was living on Quincy St. in Bed Stuy, a street cat started following Katherine and me home at night. He will emerge from under the car and approach us. Let us stroke it and eventually follow us all the way to my apartment. One night I came home alone and got a little drunk. I wonder how am I going to shut the door on this cat if I see him again? I’ve never had a cat before. But it was during Thanksgiving. and the weather is getting colder Of course he was waiting for me there. So I asked myself, ‘What if I pick him up?’ Then I picked him up and thought. ‘What would happen if I took him in?’ I did and ever since then I fell in love. I wouldn’t say I ‘had’ a cat, but since then I’ve been sharing my home with a tuxedo cat. I will name it Marty.”
Oops! If you’ve ever had a cat You will surely know that this house is “shared” with them.

Will goes on to explain how Marty lived with him at this critical moment in his life. Including the end of the relationship and the beginning of a new one. But sadly, last Tuesday His beloved cat crossed the Rainbow Bridge:
“Yesterday we had to say goodbye. After months of trying to cure the cancer he was suffering from, he had had enough. He had completely stopped eating and drinking. and then lost almost nothing He struggled to breathe and began to hide under the sofa to die. So Catherine and I decided to do the only thing we could do for him. He went to sleep at our house and in my arms. I know this is a little tragedy in the grand scheme of the world. But it was a tragedy that I took seriously knowing that I was expecting many more years from my friend. We are heartbroken but so grateful for the years we have had him in our lives.”
He ends the post by saying that he hopes that one day he will see his cat again on the other side. By writing in a nutshell:
“Goodbye Marty, I will miss you so much.”
Tears flowed after reading this! The love between a pet and its owner is truly unique…
