such as american football Preparing to write their fourth album, the pandemic virtualized the band’s writing. And it didn’t work for the band. The unique style is born from one-on-one collaboration. Especially guitarist Steve Holmes, drummer and trumpet player Steve Lamos, the latter of whom left the band in 2021. But for Mike and his cousin Nate Kinsella. Virtual collaboration is something they’ve been doing since before the pandemic. And they also started experimenting with things like synthesizers and electronic drums. And it comes with music that exists outside of the usual American football wheelhouse. Although he deliberately pays homage to other artists, and LIES is an album that fits Kinsella’s principles.
LIES also has an upcoming performance in April, including Brooklyn’s Baby’s All Right on April 28 (all dates below), and American Football has an upcoming performance this year too. There’s also Steve Lamos back in the band.
