More signs Channel 10 is in serious trouble: An embarrassingly low 43 people tuned in to its new breakfast show after the network’s pilot bombed with a show attracting just 7,000 viewers

When Channel 10 owners thought their ratings couldn’t get any worse, their decision to remove Pilot Week from the main channel and switch it to 10Play has propelled the network to a disastrous new low.

Just 30,000 viewers tuned in to watch the 10K pilot showcase Courtney’s Closet on the streaming platform.

According to TV Blackbox, the biggest show of the 10’s newly-named pilot showcase, Courtney’s Closet, exploded in its online ratings with just 30,914 viewers since its July 4 launch.

In contrast, Trial by Kyle was an AA ratings winner on Channel 10’s main channel in 2018, attracting a national audience of 519,000 overnight.

What’s worse for the beleaguered Channel 10 network is that it has recorded fewer than 100,000 viewers for all pilot shows combined in the four weeks since they made them available for viewing or streaming.

Abby Chatfield finished second in a disappointing ranking with only 23,000 viewers for her Abby Chat pilot. The Bush Blonde vs The World was the least popular show, clocking just over 7,000 views.

The overnight viewing figures for all shows combined were 23,206 views.

Channel 10’s failure to attract huge ratings for its pilot show comes after extremely low ratings for the new breakfast show: 10 News First: Breakfast.

According to OzTAM data, only 43 viewers in Perth tuned in to watch the news bulletin at 8 a.m. during the second week of broadcasting.

On the same day, the 30-minute broadcast attracted just 557 viewers in Melbourne.

During its first five days of airing, the show attracted an average of 17,000 viewers in five major cities, but dropped to only 15,000 per day in the second week.

This comes after broadcasting just 44 viewers in Sydney and 224 in Perth.

Despite the shocking ratings, a Channel 10 spokesperson surprisingly told The Australian last month that the network was pleased with the results.

He said, “Network is happy with the launch of 10 News First: Breakfast

‘It has increased its 2022 timeslot average by 13 percent in its first week.’
