Ne-Yo’s wife, Crystal René, has filed for divorce from the singer, alleging that he fathered a child with another woman amid claims of past infidelity.
In divorce documents obtained by Page Six on Thursday, the 36-year-old model claimed that Ne-Yo, 42, “recently gave birth to a minor” with her “boyfriend”.
René filed court documents on Monday and listed the date of separation as July 22. She called their marriage “irreversibly broken with no hope of reconciliation”.
She and the Grammy winner – whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith – initially tied the knot in February 2016. The on-again, off-again couple divorced two years later before marrying again in April 2022.
The pair have three children together – Shaffer, 6, Roman, 4, and Isabella, 1. Ne-Yo, also father to Madeline, 11, and Mason, 10, from his previous relationship with Monita Shaw.
In his August 1 filing, René requested primary physical custody of the little ones as well as joint legal custody.
A day earlier, she accused Ne-Yo of cheating in a lengthy Instagram post, in which she referred to her time as “eight years of lies and deceit.”
She continued, “8 years inadvertently sharing my life and husband with so many women who sell their bodies unsafely… every last of them!”
The “heartbroken and disgusting” actress further wrote, “It is absolutely insane to ask me to stay and accept it. The mindset of an atheist. I will no longer lie to the public or pretend it is something that it is Not there. “
In addition to her “three beautiful kids,” René added in a since-deleted social media upload that she received nothing but “wasted years and heartache” from Ne-Yo.
“For the sake of our kids, my family and I will work through our challenges behind closed doors,” the songstress responded to the allegations from her estranged partner via Twitter on Sunday.
He continued, “Individual matters are not meant to be addressed and dissected in public forums. All I ask is that you please respect my privacy and that of my family at this time.”
Page Six has reached out to a representative for Ne-Yo for comment.
