Get ready Swifties — Taylor Swift could be this season’s Super Bowl halftime show … at least that’s what fans of the musician think after the NFL appeared to put a big dent in it all Thursday night.
Here’s the deal — back in May, Pepsi pulled out of its longtime partnership with the league and the Big Game halftime show … and on Thursday night, the NFL announced it finally replaced the soft drink company with Apple Music as its new sponsor .
In its announcement, the league didn’t mention a potential halftime performer for Super Bowl LVII … but according to Swift’s fans, it didn’t need to — because the timing of the release says it all.
The league curiously dropped the news at midnight — something that has been associated with Swift for YEARS. She has released two albums since 2020, which were released at the time, and has sung the word “midnight” hundreds of times in her songs.
Swift is also set to release a new album next month … titled “Midnights.”
Taylor has never performed at an SB show before – with many believing she won’t take the gig because she’s locked into a sponsorship deal with Pepsi’s biggest competitor, Coca-Cola.
With Apple Music now, however, it looks like Swift will be free and clear to sing “Shake It Off” to millions during Super Bowl halftime on Feb. 12 without a problem.
The NFL has yet to confirm or deny the rumors – we’ve reached out for comment, but no word yet.
