Nick Cave says ‘Love Island’ contestant’s parents helped him with son’s death tragedy

Nick Cave opens up on how to parent love island Contestant Luca helps him and his wife through the “unspeakable” tragedy of losing their son.

Arthur Cave died in 2015 after falling off a cliff in Owingdeen, East Sussex. He was 15 years old.

For the latest entry in their long-running Q&A site red hand files, Cave was asked what the “major difference” is between him and his wife, Susie. In response, the Bad Seeds frontman explained that “Susie watches”. love islandAnd I don’t”.

He spoke about the couple’s affair with a current contestant on the ITV2 reality series, Luka Bish.

“Luca was a school friend of our twins, Arthur and Earl,” Kew wrote. “As a result, Susie and I become friends with Luca’s parents, Maria and Michael. Maria is an antiques dealer. Michael is a fisherman. Luca is also a fisherman.

“Early in that dreadful, chaotic first week after Arthur’s death, Maria came to our door with a tray of lasagne and basically took care of us. She barely said anything to us. She offered us cups of tea. She cooked for us. She was just there. She was a constant, through times of horror and confusion, when people of despair and admiration came and went.”

She continued: “We will never forget his kindness. Even in the first week, when the world seemed suddenly and shockingly defined by an unspeakable and perverse cruelty, Maria reminds us that there is good in the world. It also served as a lesson in how to deal with grieving people – you don’t need to. Say anything, just Doing some; Make them a cup of tea, make them dinner.

Nick Cave first spoke about losing Arthur during the 2016 film One More Time With Feeling, which delved into the “deeply personal circumstances surrounding the making of ‘Skeleton Tree'”.

In a Red Hand Files post last November, the singer said he and Susie moved to Los Angeles because Brighton became “very sad” after the death of their son.

In May, Kew’s son Jethro Lazenby died at the age of 31. The musician later thanked fans for sending them “condolences and kind words”, adding that they were “a great source of comfort”.

Nick Cave and the Bad Seeds played their first show in four years earlier last month as part of the band’s 2022 summer tour.
