The Nova Twins have canceled their planned appearance at Les Nuits Secrets tonight (July 22) due to travel issues.
The London pair were due to perform on the first evening of the three-day festival, which is taking place in Aulnoy Aymries in northern France.
However, the band confirmed on social media this afternoon that they have now pulled out of the show.
Nova Twins wrote in a statement: “We are very sorry to say that due to the excessive ferry queues in Dover, we are no longer able to arrive in time for our evening performance at Les Nuits Secretes “
“We are deeply saddened to miss the festival, but since 8 a.m. the traffic at the port is at a standstill and the situation is completely out of control.”
He added: “We miss our French family and we can’t wait to return as soon as possible. Bilingual! [See you soon!],
Group a. also shared a screenshot of BBC News Article on current situation in Dover, Kent. According to the report, the port has declared a “serious incident” due to the six-hour queues leading to the ferry terminal.
According to Dover MP Natalie Elfique, the delay was caused by French border officials who “did not come for work”. It is said that since then the French border resources have increased, and that “traffic has begun to move more slowly”.
But port staff have warned that it will “take some time to clear the backlog” of vehicles.
