Old Dominion is postponing several shows on their No Bad Vibes tour as lead singer and guitarist Matthew Ramsey was injured in an all-terrain car accident.
Ramsey, 45, revealed on Tuesday that he had broken his pelvis in three places following an ATV accident. Make the Alter Country Band’s Weekend Concert at Coffee Butler in Key West Florida State had to postpone all year.
“The good news is it will heal. The bad news is that I’m going to have to stay at home and recover for a while. I know we all have plans to sing and dance together in Key West. I’m really looking forward to it! We’ll make it up to you!” the “Memory Lane” singer said in a statement posted on the band’s Twitter account.
Ramsey did not go into the details of the accident.
“I promise we will keep you updated about my recovery and any other shows that may be impacted,” Ramsey said. “This tour has been a lot of fun so far this year. And before you know it I’m back out with No Bad Vibes.”
Concerts on March 31 and April 1 and 2 in Key West have been rescheduled to March 22, 23 and 24, 2024, according to the tweet. Current tickets will remain valid for the newly announced dates. A full refund will be made within the next 30 days at the point of purchase for those unable to reschedule.
Old Dominion is known for hits “One Man Band” and “Written in the Sand,” as well as keyboardist Trevor Rosen, drummer Whit Sellers, bass guitarist Geoff Sprung and guitarist Brad Tursi. Grammy Award for single “Some People Do” in 2019 and has won numerous awards in country music. including the grand prize from the Academy of Country Music Awards, Country Music Assn Awards and the CMT Music Awards.
It’s not clear if the band’s mid-April shows in Pennsylvania, New York and Maine will also be postponed due to Ramsey’s injury.
The guitarist was hospitalized in 2021 after falling down stairs while changing a light bulb. He had broken ribs and suffered from a collapsed lung at the time. The band also postponed three shows in 2019 due to Ramsey undergoing surgery on his leg, telling People that he had fallen off stage the previous year and that “Playing with some pain”
