Olivia Wilde confirms Harry Styles DID NOT spit on Chris Pine at ‘Don’t Worry Honey’ premiere

Director Olivia Wilde has set the record straight about her boyfriend and Don’t Worry Darling co-star Harry Styles allegedly spitting on Chris Pine.

Video surfaced earlier this month of the cast of Don’t Worry Darling taking their seats ahead of the world premiere at the Venice Film Festival, when some assumed from Pine’s reaction to Stiles taking his seat next to Pine that Stiles was spitting of Pine.

Both Styles and Pine’s reps denied the incident happened — Styles even joked about it at a concert — with Wilde, 38, confirming on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert that the incident, now known as “spitgate,” just it didn’t happen.

A laughing Wilde said: “He didn’t, but I think it’s a perfect example that people will look for drama wherever they can.”

She flatly added, “Harry’s not actually spitting on Chris,” while Colbert joked, “Only time will tell.”

“No, you really didn’t!” Wilde said with a laugh.

The alleged “spitter” was just one of many controversies surrounding the film, which began with a report this summer by New York Post that Florence Pugh and Wilde clashed on set.

“I can tell you for sure that Flo seeing Olivia and Harry on top of each other on set didn’t sit well as Olivia was still with Jason when she first got together with Harry,” the insider said at the end on July.

Although neither Wilde nor Pugh have directly responded to these reports, Pugh’s lack of promotion for the film continues to fuel these rumors.

She missed the film’s press conference at the Venice Film Festival, but arrived for the photo shoot and premiere, although he left shortly after to return to work on Dune Part 2.

Pugh has since missed the premiere screening in New York earlier this week, where Styles made headlines for hugging a fan in a wheelchair.

Don’t Worry Darling opens in over 4,000 theaters this weekend, with projections suggesting it could debut between $20 million and $24 million.

Wilde will next be seen on the big screen in Damien Chazelle’s Babylon, as part of an all-star cast that includes Brad Pitt, Margot Robbie and Gene Smart.
