Heavy bands that are impossible to pin down. guilt has announced a new album devil songReleased digitally on 20/4/20 and physical release on 21 April via Run For Cover, the album features five new original songs in Side A and an orchestral reimagining of five original songs in Side A. Side B again. Side A was recorded and mixed by Majority Rule’s Matt Michel, while Side B was recorded and mixed by Uniform’s Ben Greenberg. Former collaborator Jenna Rose guest sang “Where Angels Come to Die.” “
In addition to the announcement There’s also a short film directed by Emmanuella Zachariou and a soundtrack entirely by Side B. Emmanuella says:
When I heard B-Side for the first time devil songI was deeply moved by the nature of music in the cinema. As a filmmaker and artist who started his career in the industry as an avid music lover. Especially the heavier and darker sound. deep personal goals Mine is creating other projects. That not only emphasizes the extremely complex nature of such elements. but trying to bring a real cinematic atmosphere to the picture. The string elements in the track really helped inspire the medieval blueprint in my opinion. and beyond that I’d like to use a few nods to the promotional images of ’90s black metal and my favorite directors and movies. Everything here has been carefully selected for my favorite movies, books, artists and albums. Some examples include: Marketa Lazarová (1967), Wai people (1973), devil (1971), to the devil’s daughter (1976), Passion for Joan of Arc (1928), Wim Wenders, Jean Rollin, Jesús Franco, Mortiis, to the text options in the title card. (Inspired by Medieval Marginalia and even Abigor’s 1995 album Natthimnaen and Orkblut – Retaliation).
The harsh vocals of Guilt’s voice contrast with the orchestral arrangements are both beautiful and restless. And Emmanuella’s description will give you a good idea of what to expect from this creepy movie. It’s another unpredictable move from Portrayal of Guilt, and you can check it out below.
