Recently, the actress spoke about her difficult time following the death of her father RT Narayan. She had contemplated suicide and credited Rahul. Gandhi for providing emotional support during her difficult times.

Ramya revealed how Congress leader Rahul Gandhi played a huge role in her support system. She said, “My mother was the biggest influence in my life. Followed by my father. And the third one is Rahul Gandhi. When I lost my father, I was in a bad mood. I thought of ending my life. I became a loner I still lost the election It was a time of sorrow. During that time Rahul Gandhi helped me and encouraged me.”
For those without background, she joined the Indian Youth Congress in 2012 and headed the Congress’ social media campaign in 2019, but the results were disappointing. She later left politics and returned to film.
