Republican Jackie Walorsky, who has been serving India’s second district in Congress since 2013, died on Wednesday in a car accident along with two young employees and former employees. The driver of the other car also died.
A two-car accident occurred just after noon in Elkhard County, Indiana. Emma Thompson, 28, who was Wolorsky’s director of communications, also died, as did Zachary Potts, 27, Wolorsky’s district director and president of the St. Joseph County Republican Party. The driver of the car, which collided with the SUV containing Wolorsky, Thompson and Potts, also died, according to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, which released a statement about the incident:

“My heart is heavy, and I have no words,” couple Rep. Adam Kizinger (R-Ill.). “But all I can say is prayers for his family. She was a good and honorable public servant.”
Valorsky was 58 years old.
