Ringo Starr has unveiled the details of a new EP titled ‘EP3’.
The Beatles drummer has stated that the project will be released on September 16 through Universal.
A press statement said Starr recorded four new songs at his Roccabella West home studio that make up the ‘EP3’. He said he worked with longtime collaborators on the project including Steve Lucather, Linda Perry, Dave Koz, Jose Antonio Rodriguez and Bruce Sugar.
Following its digital release, physical copies of ‘EP3’ will be available on CD, 10-inch vinyl and a limited-edition translucent Royal Blue cassette from November 18. You can pre-order the album Here,

The project has been described as a collection of “feel-good lyrics” and “easy-to-bright melodies”. The star also sings and plays the dhol on every track.
Speaking about the project, he said: “I am writing in my studio and recording every chance I get.
“It’s what I’ve always done and will continue to do, and releasing the EP more often allows me to stay creative and give each song a little more love.”
Meanwhile, late Foo Fighters drummer Taylor Hawkins and the star are set to appear in a new documentary.
Let there be drums!, Directed by Justin Kreutzmann, son of The Grateful Dead drummer Bill Kretzmann, which hits theaters on October 28.
According to time limit It “examines the essential role of drumming in great bands and how music is passed down from generation to generation.” It is set to feature one of Hawkins’ final interviews, before he died in Bogota, Colombia on March 25 at the age of 50.
Along with the star, it will also feature Stewart Copeland of The Police, Stephen Perkins from Jane’s Addiction, Red Hot Chili Peppers drummer Chad Smith and ex-Guns N’ Roses stickman Matt Sorum.
Kretzmann took on the project “to talk to the world’s most influential drummer in hopes of better understanding his father and the instrument that defined his life”.
