On Friday, July 1, when his episode aired, he joined a stellar roster of stars in reading a story for the youth.

And, Steve Carell, 59, left fans in stitches as he struggled to pronounce ‘CBeebies’ in a hilarious Bedtime Stories clip shared on social media.

Steve read a story Written by Steve Smallman is called ‘The Eyebrows of Doom’, but his attempt to pronounce the show’s name after it was posted on Twitter sparked laughter.

In a short video, Steve can be seen saying: ‘Imagine you’ve never seen CBG. CCGBs. CB… well, I can imagine it.’

One Twitter user tweeted the nine-second clip, and wrote: ‘Can’t get over Steve Carell trying to pronounce CBBz.’

In response, someone tweeted: ‘I didn’t have “Steve Carell Will on CBB’s” on my 2022 bingo card, but here we are.

‘The Silver Fox,’ wrote another with a laughing face emoji, with someone else enthusiastically replying: ‘It’s Mitch Kessler!’ After his The Morning Show character.

Speaking about appearing on the show, Steve said: ‘I loved reading to my kids when they were little so it was a pleasure to read a bedtime story for CBB’s about a pair of naughty eyebrows wreaking havoc – something I’m sure we all love can be related.’

The father of two – who shares 21-year-old daughter Elizabeth Anne and 18-year-old son Johnny with his wife Nancy Carell – answered some fan questions on social media prior to his appearance.

An onlooker revealed a ‘sweet’ misunderstanding with her daughter, who thought they were looking for Duggi and the squirrels in the woods instead of trying to find the actual squirrels, and so they took 30 Minutes to the CBBC characters. Ended up looking for.

Steve replied: ‘It’s so cute. This is a moment you are going to cherish with your kids…

‘And it may all sound crazy, it may seem like you’re losing your mind a little, but you will reflect on these memories and these moments with so much joy.

The comedian is joined by Australian star Chris Hemsworth, 38, singer Harry Styles, 28, and actor Tom Hardy, 44, as the most recent celebrity faces to read CBB’s Bedtime Story.
