And Suriya came out to help financially.
According to reports, VA Durai was sick and was living unattended at a friend’s house. He also said he had a serious wound in his leg. The producer’s friend posted a video on social media asking for help in his medical treatment. In which he said that it would be nice to have someone to help watch Rai in this difficult situation. However, the video reached Suriya and he was supported by the producer. Actor Jai Bhee reportedly gave 2 lakh rupees for VA Durai’s initial treatment.

VA Durai produced Suriya’s blockbuster Pithamagan. Directed by Bala starring Vikram Suriya Laila and Pithamagan, released in 2003, it became one of the biggest hits in Tamil. The film also won a National Award, Filmfare Award, and more.
VA Durai owns production and distribution company Evergreen Movie International. and has collaborated with actor Sathyaraj and director Sakthi Chidambaram in various ventures. In the early 2000s, prior to the financial difficulties of Bala’s Pithamagan (2003), Bala reportedly exceeded the agreed budget. Following this, it is said that the producer also gave director Bala Rs 25 lakh for his next film. But the movie didn’t actually materialize and the director didn’t refund Durai after 19 years. The producer filed a lawsuit against Bala for his money and protested at his office.
