Last year, Cardi B won a $4M defamation lawsuit against blogger Tasha Kay.
In news documents leaked online, Latasha – better known as Tasha Kay – filed to declare Chapter 11 bankruptcy on May 25, 2023.
According to the IUD law, when a person files for Chapter 11 bankruptcy, their attorneys propose a plan of reorganization to keep their business alive and pay creditors over time. Plans have been drawn up to keep the business going during and after the bankruptcy process.
And usually, in such cases the person who is owed money gets only a small fraction of the amount owed.
As part of Tasha’s filing, she listed all of her assets. Tasha currently only has $95 in her Chase bank account, according to documents reviewed by Media Take Out. And all of her personal property – which includes purses, cars, clothes, engagement rings, business-related property, etc. – totals only $58,595.56.
So Cardi is going to have a hard time getting anything out of Tasha.
Media Take Out reported that the blogger was ordered to pay nearly $4M in damages to Cardi after she accused the rapper of having herpes, among other shocking allegations.
This bankruptcy filing is the first step in a long process of regaining her financial independence. It has been reported that Cardi has begun collecting payment from Tasha.
