Tiffany Haddish42, said TMZ that her career took a hit due to the now-dismissed child abuse lawsuit where she and fellow comedian Owen SpearsThe 47-year-olds were accused of forcing minors to perform sexual acts on camera. “I lost everything. All my gigs are gone. It’s all gone,” she told a reporter on Wednesday, Sept. 21 at LAX at THIS VIDEO. “I don’t have a job,” Tiffany added.
The case, which was filed by a 22-year-old identified as Jane Doe in early September claimed that the plaintiff and her brother, identified as John Doewere minors when they were subjected to these alleged sex acts on camera by Tiffany and Owen for a comedy act, according to Los Angeles Times. Jane Doe later asked a judge to dismiss the case with prejudice, meaning it could not be refiled, according to Entertainment Weekly.
“My family and I have known Tiffany Haddish for many years – and we know now that she would never hurt me or my brother or help someone else do something that could harm us. We wish Tiffany the best and are glad we can all put this behind us,” the plaintiff said in declaration after the case is legally terminated.
Tiffany previously spoke about the allegations in the Instagram statement shared on September 5. “I know people have a lot of questions. i get it I’m right there with you,” she wrote. “Unfortunately, as there is an ongoing court case, there is very little I can say at this time. But, apparently, even though this skit was meant to be comedic, it wasn’t funny at all – and I deeply regret agreeing to act in it. I’m really looking forward to being able to share a lot more about this situation as soon as I can.”
Meanwhile, Owen addressed the case on his podcast Spears and Steinberg in the beginning of September. He claims the accusers are trying to “blackmail” him and Tiffany. “Listen, this is an extortion case, this is a shakedown. We will not be shaken,” he said.
