Tracy Grimshaw has help with her luggage as she flies back to Sydney

Getting (minor) royal treatment! Tracy Grimshaw has help with her luggage as she returns to Sydney after THIS gaffe about the British PM at the Queen’s funeral

Current Affairs presenter Tracy Grimshaw looked relieved to be home when she touched down at Sydney Airport on Friday.

She suffered a gaffe earlier this week during Channel Nine’s coverage of the Queen’s funeral when she failed to recognize British Prime Minister Liz Truss.

The 62-year-old wore a $600 Camilla shirt over a simple black T-shirt and trousers as she approached the airport car park.

Tracey, who also wore black and white Converse sneakers and a cross-body bag, got some help from airport staff who pushed her luggage through the terminal.

She ditched her usual TV glamor for the long flight, going make-up free.

The Nine veteran needed two trolleys for all his luggage after spending more than a week in England covering the death and funeral of Queen Elizabeth II.

Her Louis Vuitton business bag, worth more than $3,500, sat on one of the carts.

It comes after Tracey and fellow Nine senior journalist Peter Overton failed to identify Britain’s new leader while commenting on the Queen’s funeral on Monday night.

As UK Prime Minister Liz Truss got out of her car at Westminster Abbey, the two TV veterans were left scratching their heads over who she was.

“So now we’re being told it’s a substantial motorcade,” Peter, 56, said.

He continued, “Come with us as we try to identify who is getting out of the car. Of course, this is under police escort. I guess that could be royalty, Tracy.

“Difficult to identify. Perhaps minor royals, members of the… I can’t identify them at this stage…”

Viewers at home took to social media to call them out for the gaffe, prompting Peter to issue a correction moments later.

“I was told that in the distance was Liz Truss, the new Prime Minister, we could see her jumping out of the car. Thank you very much for this information,” he told viewers.

He then admitted to Nine co-stars Karl Stefanovic, Ali Langdon and British royal expert Dickie Arbiter that their British guest was perhaps better at spotting local celebrities.

Mrs Truss was the last world leader to be photographed with the Queen on her last official duty, just 48 hours before she died.
