Vince McMahon — the president and CEO of World Wrestling Entertainment — is retiring from his role with the company, he announced Friday.
“As I turn 77, I think it’s time for me to retire as President and CEO of WWE,” McMahon said in a statement.
“Throughout the years, WWE has been privileged to help you delight, inspire you, thrill you, surprise you, and always entertain you.”
“I want to thank my family for contributing to our success, and I want to thank all of our past and present superstars and employees for their dedication and passion for our brand.”
“Most importantly, I want to thank our fans for allowing us into their homes every week and for being your choice of entertainment. I extend my deepest appreciation and admiration to our generations of fans around the world who have Have liked, currently liked, and sometimes even liked our sports form of entertainment.”
