Taylor Swift fans are getting a warning from New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium where the singer will be performing her Eras Tour shows later this week. The 33-year-old singer will perform three back-to-back shows from Friday to Sunday. Naturally, thousands of fans from across the tri-state area can be expected to attend the show.
At the last few shows, fans who didn’t get tickets for the Eras Tour were seen gathering in large crowds in the parking lot of the stadium, where they enjoyed Taylor’s concert. However, it looks like New Jersey fans won’t be able to do that due to a warning issued by MetLife Stadium.
What warning has MetLife Stadium issued for Taylor Swift fans?
On Thursday night, May 25, New Jersey’s MetLife Stadium issued a warning to fans, saying fans without tickets would not be welcome in the parking lot. Take a look at the warning below.
“To be clear, do not come to MetLife Stadium if you do not have tickets to the Taylor Swift concert. Our parking lots and public transportation will be at maximum capacity and are only for guests who have tickets. Tickets will be available for that evening’s show.” Violations of MetLife Stadium policies may result in ejection from the property and a ban from participation in future events.

Taylor fans gathered in the parking lots of stadiums and arenas and soon a nationwide trend became known as Taylor-gating. More on this below.
What is Taylor-gating?
Taylor-gating is a nationwide tailgating trend in which Swifties who could not get tickets to her Eras Tour shows gather at outdoor venues to enjoy the concert their own way. The trend was born when many fans could not purchase tickets for her tour either because of high prices or technical difficulties due to long queues at Ticketmaster. Now, fans not only sing and party during shows, but also stay afterwards, make friends, share food, and enjoy more singing.
In April, one of TayTay’s fans shared a video on her TikTok space, where she can be seen having a picnic with her friend outside the Eras Tour venue, while other Swifties sang and danced to The 1 . The video has now been viewed millions of times.
