Bill Hader and Alec Berg’s Barry returns for a fourth and final season. HBO recently released a teaser for the upcoming season of the dark comedy, scheduled to premiere on Friday. On April 16, the show did very well. It received rave reviews and won many awards, so why did Hader decide to end the show for just four seasons? Read on to know more.

Why did Barry end season 4?
In an interview with Variety, Bill Hader explained that while writing the fourth season with the series’ writing team, However, he said he didn’t want to rush by saying goodbye to the show prematurely, so Hader shared that he only broke the news last year when they started filming season four. Hader told Amy Gravitt, HBO’s Vice President of Comedy, that the show would wrap up with a fourth season. Gravitt said she trusted Hader in his decisions for the show. So while they are grateful She agreed it was the right time to end the show.

Barry season 4 teaser
The teaser for Barry Season 4 came out a while ago. In the short video, we see Barry Berkman (played by Bill Hader) in prison while the Walker Brothers song After the Lights Go Out plays in the background. He then makes a series of phone calls. We see his old friend Cousineau as he tells Barry he’s back.
We then see Barry imagining Sally (Sarah Goldberg), his ex-lover Gene and hitman Monroe Fuches (Stephen Roots) walking past. We see Barry banging his head against the wall while Sally looks worried. We also see Gene holding a gun. We then see Barry yelling into his phone as he tells someone to help him. and said that if he gets out of jail he will come to them
Barry hits theaters April 16.
