Members of the Writers Guild of America have overwhelmingly approved a list of demands the union plans to submit to Hollywood studios later this month.
The union is required to contract to state the objectives for upcoming contract negotiations with the studios. The union said in a message to its members on Tuesday that 98.4 percent voted in favor of the proposed demand. Of the 5,643 members who voted, only 1.6 percent voted no.
The margin of approval and voter participation has increased from the 2020 final, in which 3,336 members voted. At that time, nearly 91% supported the union’s demand form.
