The American neo-Western drama television series Yellowstone has been a fan favorite since its premiere in June 2018. With the news of season five part two being the series finale, the show’s cast has begun to focus on other projects. What future projects does the cast of Yellowstone have in store with the series wrapping up?
Yellowstone also boasts a Paramount+ series with actors like Kevin Costner, Kelly Reilly, Kelsey Esbilly and Wes Bentley portraying characters. Following rumors of a rift between lead star Costner and creator Taylor Sheridan, Deadline reports that the second half of season five will be the end of the popular series. With Yellowstone coming to an end, the show’s cast has other projects lined up.

Kevin Costner, who plays John Dutton III in the series, is directing and starring in his next western, Horizon. Posting an update about it, she wrote, “We are deep into production of #HorizonFilm, and, I gotta tell you, I haven’t felt this way about a film since we made Dances With Wolves.” Haven’t. Can’t.” Can’t wait to share it with you all.” In addition to Costner, it stars Sienna Miller, Sam Worthington, Thomas Haden Church, and Luke Wilson.
Kelly Reilly, who plays Costner’s daughter Beth Dutton, is currently shooting the coming-of-age film Little Wing. She shared the photos on Instagram with her co-star actor Brian Cox and captioned it, “Working with this legend is no fun at all… @coxusa (movie clapboard emoji) #littlewing.” Yellowstone creator Taylor Sheridan, who also played Travis Wheatley on the show, is working on an untitled sequel and spinoff to the series.
Kelsey Asbille, who plays Monica Long-Dutton, is set to star opposite Finn Wittrock in the upcoming horror thriller film Don’t Move. Filming of the project begins in June in Europe. Bracken Merrill played Tate Dutton for all five seasons of the series and will now star in the upcoming film We’ve All Got Up to Dance. The project marks his first official film role. He will reportedly play Emmett LeClair. Lastly, Gil Birmingham, who plays Chief Thomas Rainwater, is currently working on the neo-western crime film Wind River: The Next Chapter, a sequel to the 2017 film Wind Rising. He will reprise his role as Martin Hansen in the upcoming sequel. Part 2 of Yellowstone 5 will air in November 2023.
